Winter — Certified Therapy Dog
We are so thankful to have Winter in our family. 🖤
Winter is one of our beautiful black German Shepherds, and we are especially proud of her accomplishment as a Certified Therapy Dog. Raised in our home surrounded by love and snuggles, Winter has grown into a sweet, affectionate girl with a gentle and steady temperament. From the beginning, she reminded us so much of her mother, Missy, in both her looks and her loving personality.
Winter has a natural gift for connecting with people. Her calm, gentle nature helps put people at ease, and she enjoys sharing her affection with children, adults, and seniors. Her therapy dog certification reflects the work and preparation behind this special role, and we are proud of the opportunity she has to bring comfort and companionship to others.
Winter represents the qualities we value at Tiltonhaus: a loving temperament, gentleness, companionship, and a special connection with people. She is a beautiful girl inside and out, and we feel truly blessed to have her as part of our family.
Winter's Accomplishments:
09/15/2026 – Winter earned her THDN (AKC Therapy Dog Novice) title. This title is awarded after completing 10 qualifying therapy dog visits through the AKC Therapy Dog program, recognizing her work in bringing comfort, companionship, and joy to others.
07/16/2025 – Winter earned her Certified Therapy Dog title from the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD). She first passed her AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test, demonstrating the manners and reliability needed to work around a variety of people and environments. Following a background check and handling assessment, Winter and I successfully completed ATD’s certification test. She also passed a veterinary health examination, including proof of current vaccinations and overall good health. Winter demonstrated the calm, friendly temperament and gentle nature that make her well suited to bringing comfort and companionship to others.
